The model of reduction of Churchland and Hooker.

The model of intertheoretic reduction by Churchland-Hooker is considered. Its general advantages are analyzed in comparison with E. Nagel’s model of reduction, which is dominant in analytic philosophy. Thereby the model in question is applied to historical examples of intertheoretic reduction. Epistemological consequences of the model under discussion are established.References
